New program:
Extremadura on the Spanish side and the Portuguese Alentejo are among the least populated regions of Europe.
The varied landscape in this gently hilly region, along with its diverse nature, invites visitors to linger. Our base is the little village of La Codosera, close to the border with Portugal. We explore the surrounding areas of the village on both sides of the border in comfortable stages. With luck we may have the opportunity to observe vultures and other species of wildlife.

2nd to 7th day: We spend 6 days exploring the Spanish-Portuguese border region. Far from tourist hotspots, where we can fully appreciate the typical hospitality of both Spain and Portugal. Our daily hikes, covering approximately 15 km each, take us through diverse landscapes, with the Sierra on one side and pastureland on the other. We pass through with olive trees, cork and holm oaks, the typical "Dehesa Extremeña", as well as eucalyptus forests. Extremadura is home to the largest population of vultures in Europe, as well as other rare bird species.
Throughout our journey, we visit historical sites such as Alburquerque with its medieval village and the grand castle, as well as the numerous megalithic dolmens of Valencia de Alcántara.
