We are leaving the finca in direction to the Portuguese border and are riding through the slight hilly border region of the Dehesa Extremeña. Our destination is a farm close to the border to Portugal, placed directly nearby the storage lake "barragem do Abrilongo". On the way we are cossing through a huge olive tree field in a canter. During the way we enjoy our saddlebag lunch in plain nature. Overnight stay again in La Codosera.

rd day:Today we are crossing the green border to Portugal after leaving the farm. We are following the shore of the lake and meet at the other side the car with the picniclunch. In the afternoon we ride through pasture land with cork- and holm oaks of the Natural Park "Serra de Sao Marmede". With a bit of luck we can observe vultures. The horses stay on a farm close to Arronches. We drive back to La Codosera.

th day: We will passing pasture land with cattle and horses through the Alentejo. Today we will have lunch close to Urra. Only a short trace is missing to reach our endpoint of the day, a Lusitano horse breeder, where our horses stay for the night. After taking care of the horses we can have a look to the beautiful pure bred horses.

th day: Today we have our longest riding day. We are passing big ground properties and the landscape is changing. We are having lunch close to Portalegre. In the afternoon we can enjoy a nice gallop on sandy ways. The horses stay for the night nearby the village Crato. We will go by car to Alter do Chaõ, a 4*hotel, the former convent of the village, which will be accommodation for the last 3 nights.

th day: Today we ride only in the morning. We pass through wide area with wine, Eukalyptus and granit rocks, which seem to be thrown from giants into the landscape. Around midday we reach the coral for the horses on a farm close to Aldeia da Mata. We take care of the horses and then we will have lunch directly there. On the way back to the hotel we stop to visit the studfarm of Alter Real horses, more than 250 years old.

th day: Unfortunately is today already our last riding day. We are passing the village and a romantic valley on our way to Cunheira. Sandy ways invite to a gallop. Eukalyptus changes with pasture land. After the picnic landscape change again. We are riding through former rice fields on our way to Torre das Vargens. At the end of the valley we have to say good bye to the horses. The go home by truck. We go back to our hotel and have time to let the last days passing by during our last dinner.
